Plein Air
The Delaware River by Jessie Krause

Edited by Robb Arent

Plein Air: a French expression meaning "in the open air." Particularly used to describe the act of creating art outdoors.

The Delaware River flows miles from the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. Its 419 miles takes the Delaware River past Philadelphia and into Delaware Bay.

In 2007, Jessie and I moved from Manhattan to Frenchtown, New Jersey. This tiny Borough of 1,400 residents sits on the banks of the Delaware. Over the past eight years, Jessie has been inspired to capture the ever changing mood of the river we call home - a 14 mile stretch from Frenchtown to Lambertville/New Hope.

This is a collection of Jessie's paintings, pastels, and drawings of the Delaware River.
