Through an Artist’s Eyes – Southwest England with Jessie Krause second edition now available

Through An Artist's Eyes
Southwest England with Jessie Krause

The second edition of our book is now available for sale on Blurb.com, the book making website.

I describe the book as:

This is not another travel book, but my attempt to show how a visual artist sees beauty and translates that into art.

I believe most of us see the beauty in nature. However, the way you and I see beauty is not the way a visual artist sees beauty.

You’ll follow along as I chauffeur my wife and artist, Jessie Krause, on a trip through Southwest England. An artistic trip inspired by Thomas Hardy, Jane Austen, and Doc Martin. You’ll see both pictures and artwork from Jessie. By seeing both the landscape and the finished art, I am hopefully you’ll come to better understand the artistic process.

The book chronicles Jessie and my three week "art" trek through Southwest England in the Fall of 2014. It started as a labor of love for Jessie, but morphed into a book that can be enjoyed by all.  Bring your copy by the gallery and have it signed by the artist herself!

The Rock Point Inn, Lyme Regis

The Rock Point Inn, Lyme Regis

While sitting outside enjoying a Creamed Tea in Lyme Regis, Jessie was inspired by the light playing off the Rock Point Inn across the street.  She did a pastel plein air and recently completed this oil painting based on that pastel.

New Painting “View from Uplyme”

View from Uplyme

When Jessie visited Lyme Regis as part of her trip to Southwest England she stayed at a charming little studio in Uplyme.  From the yard, she could look down towards Lyme and the sea.  Jessie did several pastels plein air and recently completed this oil painting based upon one of those pastels.
